We have just spent a couple of days with a typhoon and really a lot of rain. This remained me of a photo I recently captured of Maiko Kikusana protecting herself from the rain with a traditional Japanese Wagasa umbrella in one of Kyoto Hanamachi or Geisha District.
It was really pouring down and I thought it would be a good opportunity to capture a few photos of the elegance of the maiko or geiko walking down the streets with their beautiful silk and paper umbrella. I got lucky this day as Maiko Kikusana arrived down the deserted street under such heavy rain.
